Permits Requirements & Applications

As of January 13, 2025, Registrations and Building Permits are only processed electronically via the MGO portal. Permit Submittal Instruction 

Effective immediately inspections must be scheduled on the MGO portal. 

NOTE:

  • ALL RE-ROOF AFFIDAVIT AND PICTURES MUST BE SUBMITTED TO MGO AS A PDF DOCUMENT(S)
  • Inspections are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  • The cut-off time for inspections is 3 p.m. the day before the intended inspection day.
  • Inspections cannot be scheduled, canceled, or rescheduled once an inspector has been assigned.

8th Edition of the Florida Building Code 2023 goes into effect on December 31, 2023. Permit applications, plans, and documents submitted on or after January 1, 2024, must demonstrate compliance with the new building code.

  • Preparing Files for Submittal
    1. File Types: PDF files are preferred. PDFs are the most widely used within MGO Review System. Other file types can sometimes be difficult to work with.
    2. Submit the Correct Plan Sizes: Standard sizes are 8.5 inches by 11 inches,11 inches by 17 inches, 24 inches by 36 inches Important - never change the plan size when resubmitting corrections.
    3. Name the Drawing Files Correctly: Plan pages must be named in accordance with the exact sheet name on the drawing, without any additional letters, numbers, or information. For example: 
      1. A-00
      2. A-01
      3. E-01
      4. FP-01
      5. M-01
      6. P-01
      7. Survey

Upload the completed Application with supporting documentation and drawings. Name the Drawing Files Correctly: Plan pages must be named in accordance with the exact sheet name on the drawing, without any additional letters, numbers, or information. Example: A-00, A-01, E-01, FP-01, M-01, P-01, Survey, NOA’s Etc. Only one drawing page per file name, multi-page batch drawings are not permitted.
