Emergency Management & Preparedness
The Town of Loxahatchee Groves Emergency Operations officials are preparing for the 2025 Hurricane Season. The experts at Colorado State University’s Tropical Cyclones, Radar, Atmospheric Modeling and Software team estimate that 9 hurricanes will occur over the course of the upcoming season, with 17 named storms overall. Hurricane Season begins on June 1st and runs through November 30th. Now is the time prepare your home, property, and yourself for this hurricane season. As the season begins, the town will closely monitor for storms and work with the National Hurricane Center, Florida Department of Emergency Management, and the Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management to ensure the latest information is on our website.
Preparations Underway
We are continually monitoring the weather and are ever mindful of the potential for heavy rainfall and localized flooding in our Town. We're work closely with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) as they monitor their regional flood protection system to protect communities from flooding and handle possible heavy local rainfall from any tropical disturbance.
What You Can Do To Prepare
It is the peak of hurricane season, and Loxahatchee Groves reminds residents to be prepared even if this particular storm has a minimal impact. Visit our Hurricane Preparedness webpage for tips on how to stay safe this hurricane season.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Now is the time to prepare your property by trimming dead and overgrown trees and hedges and have it removed from your property. The Town will hold two vegetative amnesty days for the purpose of removing tree and hedge debris that is overgrown and a hazard to travelers of the town. Notices will be sent out to all residents prior to those dates when they are announced.
